Calculations and Transfer Efficiencies

Transfer Efficiency (% solids transferred from container to part)

Formula One

  1. Weigh foil (piece enough to cover painted area)
  2. Cover painted areas of part
  3. Time trigger shot
  4. Fold foil and bake for 30 minutes
  5. Take 5 seconds fluid shot- Weigh – Compute solids sprayed
  6. Compare weight pickup on foil

Alternate Method

  1. Weigh pot and unpainted parts
  2. Spray parts / dry parts
  3. Re-weigh parts and pot
  4. Compute solids used versus solids deposited on parts
